SNUH CDM Deceased Subset
This dataset was developed with a profound purpose: to use the data of the deceased to save the living. SNUH CDM Deceased Subset is a specialized dataset derived from SNUH CDM (Seoul National University Hospital Common Data Model), an OMOP (Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership)-standardized dataset of electronic medical records, focusing exclusively on patients confirmed to have died during hospitalization (in-hospital death). By analyzing the disease progression patterns, therapeutic interventions, and clinical outcomes of patients who did not survive, we aim to identify critical patterns, risk factors, and potential intervention points that can improve survival rates for future patients facing similar conditions. The dataset contains comprehensive de-identified OMOP CDM-standardized data including demographics, diagnoses, prescriptions, procedures, and laboratory results from patients treated at Seoul National University Hospital between October 2004 and December 2023 whose deaths were confirmed to have occurred during their hospital stay. Unlike ICU-focused mortality datasets, this resource spans the full continuum of hospital care — outpatient, inpatient, and emergency — enabling research in mortality prediction, treatment effectiveness analysis, and clinical decision support across all clinical settings.
